Southern Cross Humanitarian Spring News! ---------------------------------- Treat Yourself to the Southern Cross Children's Blog and Our New Spring & Summer Interns! (For full accounts
go to our children's blog)
Providing individual children with one-on-one attention, care, and training is at the heart of Sponsoring-a-Child with Southern Cross. As you can see here with Natalie Bell and 2 year old Lewis, our new spring and summer interns are perfect for the job! Be sure follow their activities on our blog! Here are just some of their adventures:
This week has been a lot of fun. I'm getting the hang of their names and getting to know them on a more personal level which has been very rewarding. We have had a few good activities this week like painting one of the walls like a tree and then using the kids hand prints as the leaves. Some of the kids have troubles saying my name so they call me "Fresco" which translates to fresh...... (Preston Cook)
Sophia and Fanny are 5 year old twins at the Aldea. We volunteers sure get a kick out of them. They are two of the toughest little girls here. Just like all sisters, they pull hair and kid around with each other, but unlike most sisters, they rarely cry about it!.......(Natalie Bell)
The kids are amazing. They are so loving and accepting. I love eating with them. This might sound weird, but it feels like I am spending time with my family. I'm still getting to know all of them but I feel like I've gained many little brothers and sisters.... (Tanner Billingsley)
We had a fiesta on Friday by a local Christian church where they did a bunch of songs and dances and a puppet show. It was great and the kids, especially the younger ones, had a blast. It is still really difficult to manage so many young kids because they do go nuts easily. They're great, just rambunctious.....(Dan Forsyth)

Heartbeats "When people donate their time, they are giving of their valuable heartbeats."
· Warm appreciation goes to the Young Women in the Sunset Heights 2nd Ward's congregation, of Orem, UT, for making birthday kits to send down with our spring/summer interns!
· Our fun Canadian Chapter is at it again! Thank you to Tom France for donating $15 for each new referred costumer, from Southern Cross, for his premium oil changes. It is a outstanding cooperative effort spread to friends and family via email and word of mouth - great for everyone!
· A much belated thank you to Alberto Puertas and his family for their donation of computers to the Aldea and Porcon on behalf of Southern Cross Humanitarian. Also our thanks for the time and effort put into our intern program. We couldn't do it without you Alberto!
